If you are looking for an afternoon activity in the Greater Lafayette, Indiana area, Afternoon Tea at the Whittaker Inn is a must do!

This timeless event pays tribute to Chef Andrew’s English heritage, from personalized tea cups, to the classic English Tea menu, each detail gives guests a one-of-a-kind experience with family and friends.

Our table was set with five teacups and saucers; each one a different shape, color and size. We were given a tea menu that listed a variety of looseleaf teas from Harney & Sons.

Each of us selected a different tea for our personal tea pots. Paris and Queen Catherine were among the teas selected. Paris had small hints of vanilla and a fruity black current taste. Queen Catherine had flavors of dark honey, unsweetened cocoa, and spices.

The traditional English Tea menu consisted of five finger sandwiches, raisin and plain scones with jam and clotted cream and assorted sweets.

The beef pastrami with onion chutney and grain mustard mayo as well as the curry chicken salad with apples, cranberry, and pecan finger sandwiches were table favorites.

The sweet treats at each event have been different. At the February event, the sweets consisted of a mini chocolate cheesecake, Oreo truffles, mini carrot cakes, and a decorated sugar cookie.

The Whittaker Inn provides an unforgettable experience with each visit that encourages guests to keep coming back for more.
